"The fundamental rule in statistics is to interpret the figures while taking into account the definitions and concepts used, as well as considering the scope of the calculation." This was emphasized by Dr. Idrissi Amal, Executive Director of the Moroccan Observatory of SMEs (OMTPME), during an interview on the "Guest of Infomediaire" program on Infomediaire Morocco, on July 23, 2023. During this interview, Mrs. Idrissi discussed the main findings of the OMTPME's 2022-2023 Annual Report, which highlights the challenges faced by the Moroccan productive fabric. She particularly pointed out the underrepresentation of female entrepreneurship at the national level. Furthermore, she noted that the jobs held by women represent only one third of the total jobs declared to the CNSS. Thus, Mrs. Idrissi highlighted that data is a strategic asset that should be leveraged for a better understanding of the productive fabric, with the aim of designing policies and strategies that can assist in resolving business issues such as concentration, fragmentation, and disparities between men and women in terms of employment and entrepreneurship.
